In 1803 Napoleon had subdued Italy and Austria and was preparing to invade Britain.
He had assembled 167,000 men at Boulogne waiting for sufficient ships and barges to ferry them across the Channel.

Marlipins Museum, Shoreham
The building is a fascinating combination of old and new, with one of the oldest lay buildings in Sussex linked to a new two-storey annexe, which was completed in 2004.
The Gallery on the first floor is a popular venue for talks and exhibitions.

Seaford Museum and Heritage Centre
Seaford Museum is housed in Martello Tower no.74, which is situated at the eastern end of Seaford seafront. Nicknamed the Tardis by its visitors, there is a deceptive 5,000 square feet of display area which includes the roof with cannon, entrance floor with museum shop, the lower floor of the tower and the covered dry moat area.

Tangmere Military Aviation Museum
Tangmere Military Aviation Museum was established in 1982 on the old RAF Tangmere airfield. From its beginnings in 1916, through its illustrious service as one of Britain's front line fighter bases during WW2 and on to its key role as home to the world speed record breaking aircraft of the High Speed Flight in the post war years it has occupied a unique place in aviation history.
